the things i used to consider “doing for myself” don’t quite feel like that anymore. that’s completely fine. i’m not mad or upset about having to redefine what i can do that’s just for me. it’s kind of nice to have that change.
i’m part of this mentorship program for english majors called chernin and one thing the program is doing this semester is peer-ran workshops. i signed up for a short story one and i really hope i can keep it in my schedule. this is for me; not for the benefit of anything—my friends, family, majors.
i really hope it’s worth it. i really hope i make it worth while. this is mine.
