Hello and regards from {m}aganda magazine!

{m}aganda is a Pilipino, student-run publication founded in University of California, Berkeley in 1989. In that past, we produced a bi-annual magazine, but we have now evolved into an annually-published anthology. Our anthology features works that revolve around one central theme, chosen by our staff every year.

This year, our theme is Broke. I am reaching out to you in hopes that you can inform your community of our magazine and call for submissions; you can help us preserve and expose the expressions and narratives of our diverse community.

You do not have to be Pilipino in order to submit! We appreciate creative works from any and everyone; we hope you can encourage not just your members, but the greater community around you to submit as well. In addition, we are not limited solely to prose and poetry, but also any type of art you can produce.

Please help us by contributing some of your own work and encouraging your colleagues, friends, and family to contribute to our twenty-fifth issue: Broke. Our “Call for Submissions” and rules for submission are attached below. Please note that the deadlines for all submissions is December 31stJanuary 21, 2012 at 11:59 pm (PST)*.
